I know, I know, they’re that Russian bunch Chelsea are about to play in their latest quest to add to their illustrious roll of honour that stretches back a full decade now. It was a rhetorical question. Sort of.
I’m aware, as you probably were, that Chelsea are about to play them, but I knew pretty much nothing about them before. I’d even forgotten they famously beat Barca at the Nou Camp / Camp Nou a few years back on a foray into the Champions League.
Apparently within Russia no one likes Rubin. A bunch of jumped-up Johnny-come-latelys, I’m told. The similarities with Chelsea are staggering. Anyway, as no one likes them SovSport magazine thought it would be a good idea to ask a couple of English fans what we knew about them in order that they may take the Mickey, so I and a Chelsea fan answered a set of multiple-choice questions – in my case badly.
If you read Russian the full thing is here: http://www.sovsport.ru/gazeta/article-item/598556 and looks a bit like this:
My Russian is limited (to ‘da’ and ‘nyet’), so I used Google translate on it. Which in all honesty I’m not sure is doing a perfect job – though you can tell that I scored three while the Chelsea fan managed eight correct guesses! Typical of their luck. Here’s the start of it translated. Most of my great gags are quite literally lost in translation.I’ll probably stick to facts about Arsenal instead. Did I tell you about the charity Arsenal Quiz Night on 18 April? All details here: http://wp.me/p1I44P-xa
Phil, what ever the hell you were on over Easter, Drop it !
